Fulgencio was a very scary rabbit.
One night he entered his burrow and prepared a succulent dinner: carrots, artichokes, turnips, broccoli, and peas. For dessert he had a piece of apple and then went to sleep.
After a while, when he was falling asleep, he heard a knock on the door.
- Knock, knock, knock, knock.
- Who will it be at this time? - He wondered, scared, and instead of going to see who it was, he took a few steps back and went to the corner farthest from the door.
They called again.
- Knock, knock, knock, knock.
Fulgencio crouched in the corner, trembling with fear.
A few seconds later they called again; this time stronger.
- Knock, knock, knock, knock.
- It must be the wolf. He will have smelled me and will be hungry - thought Fulgencio. Still shivering and curling up, he faced the wall.
Again they called insistently:
- Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock.
- Ayyyyyy! - Fulgencio shouted covering his head with his paws and wishing to become invisible with all his desire. It sure is the eagle. He will have smelled me and will be hungry.
And so, scared to death, crouched in the corner and curled up, he fell asleep at dawn, overcome by sleep.
When he woke up in the middle of the morning, he looked horrible. With puffy eyes, she went to wash her face to wake up. Even with fear in his body, he decided to go outside with his ears poking out little by little. When he saw that the path was clear, he jumped up and, looking suspiciously behind, began to walk.
- Hi! - He heard someone say hello suddenly, right under his nose.
Fulgencio, who was not expecting it, fell head over heels in shock.
- Is something wrong? - Asked his rabbit friend alarmed.
- Last night I went to dinner at your house, as we had arranged, and although I was surprised you shouldn't be there, because you didn't open the door for me - said his friend, as he helped him up.
-It was you! Fulgencio exclaimed with wide eyes, about to fall back to the ground.
Then, without saying anything to his friend, he thought of how foolish he had been to vent his fear.
What a night had passed!
